How to build a downline with any MLM - from getting your first referral to growing that extended network

Viewbar users or downline builders

I was looking at my Agloco referral stats today.
My Agloco Referrals

Something struck me - I now have 14 direct referrals and only one extended referral. That’s a very low extended to direct ratio. If I were to have a one to one ratio I’d have 14 extended referrals, but I have only one so far. If I’m ever going to build a large Agloco network it’s imperative that my extended to direct referral ratio starts to improve.

Take a look at John Chow, for example. He’s now up to 10,039 referrals, with a mere (cough, cough) 814 direct referrals. That’s a ratio of over 12 extended to each direct, which is excellent. If I had his kind of ratio I’d have 172 extended referrals right now instead of only one!

So why don’t I have more extended referrals, what am I doing wrong? Well, for one thing, I’ve only been an Agloco member since March 26 - that’s less than two weeks. John Chow’s been a member since November 22nd 2006, practically since Agloco went live. His readers are also visiting his blog to learn how to make money online. That means they’re open to new methods and new ways of making money, and they’re probably much more internet-savvy than your average internet user. This potent combination leads to him actually recruiting bonafide downline builders who’ve had time to build their own networks.

For me, on the other hand, it’s a different story so far. Even though I may have recruited some users who will go on to refer others in time, they haven’t had time to do so yet. As time goes by, I’m positive that my extended network will start to grow. More importantly, however, I’ve been recruiting members with the argument “Get Paid to Surf”. If all of my direct referrals have signed up wanting to get paid to surf, maybe I’ve only referred viewbar users! Maybe they’re all going to be end users, surfing with the viewbar, and not refer a single new Agloco member.

Time will tell, though. My hope is that if I keep plugging along, refer one or two new members every day, I’ll get my extended referral network going eventually. Even a regular viewbar user will probably get some people to join, but not until he has seen the viewbar and used it himself for a while. So there’s still hope for those of us with smaller networks!

Still not a member? Sign up with my network today and I’ll help you build your own downline.

Interesting Agloco stats

I was just searching Google using the term “Agloco news” to try and find out more about the pending viewbar release. Members from BBBB to BBBF are due to download the viewbar right now, and since I’m not among them I’m trying to find a member who’s downloaded the viewbar already.

I found the Agloco News blog with lots of interesting info, and I’m hoping they’ll give us an update once they download the bar.

Excellent news today, people! The viewbar launches today, April 4 2007, for the members who first joined Agloco. The first happy few who get to download the viewbar and start accumulating hours are those with a member ID between BBBB and BBBF.

If you’ve held off joining Agloco until the viewbar was released, your wait is over! Join Agloco right now, and be next in line to earn money and shares for surfing.

My agloco downline is growing

After five days of promoting Agloco, I am now up to seven direct referrals.
My Referrals

According to the scrolling text below the image, I am in the top 20.58% of all members with referrals. I find that last part interesting - with referrals. That means they’re not including all the people who haven’t referred anyone in the statistics. Preliminary figures suggest that 80 - 90% of all Agloco members will never get a single referral. So far, that seems to hold true for my direct referrals. I’m taking this to heart so as not to get discouraged with the slow growth (read non-existant growth) of my extended network.

It won’t be uncommon, I suspect, to refer five, ten or even more direct referrals before getting your first extended referral. But it’s somewhat of a numbers game. If you keep plugging away, increase your direct referrals one at a time, you will certainly find at least one who starts referring people himself. And I also believe that few people will stop at only one referral. If they are sufficiently interested in Agloco to refer one person, they’ll keep trying to refer others. So I’m really looking forward to seeing the “Extended Referrals” column in my report switch over from 0 to 1, because that’s when I’ll feel I’m really in business!
